Bama ousts Texas, New Rocky Bowl Champion Crowned

Congratulations to first time participant Brad 'Brother who works' Ericksen for completing his first Rocky Bowl as Bobbi Breeze and Rocky Bowl Champion.

Also, congratulations to 'Good Hair', 'Two Timer', 'Swishy', 'Sneakers', 'Duke Daddy' and 'Nebraska Squeeze for their 2nd - 7th place finishes respectively.

In addition, Rick 'Slalom' Lockhart becomes the first 2 time winner of the Rocky Bowl Toilet bowl. He was able to eek out a victory over 'TopCoug' to ensure the Rocky Bowl Toilet seat just needs to make a short trip across the street rather than back to California.

There also must be some interesting discussions going on in the Tanay household as Debbie crushes her husband in her first ever Rocky Bowl.  Nice job job 'Swishy'!

Rocky Bowl 2009-2010 Prize Money Announced

Hello Rocky Bowlers --

We hope you are enjoying the bowl season. The commissioners have met and determined this year's prize money. Our #1 guiding principle for determining the payout is that $$$ is not the primary reason why we run the Rocky Bowl. In years past, many of the winners have donated a portion of their winning to charities. With this in mind, we have committed $500.00 of the Rocky Bowl money to a charity of the commissioner’s choice that supports the local community. As you know, our community has been hit hard by a number of fallen officers. Several of the earlier funds have requested people begin donating to the latest officer who recently lost his life, Pierce County sheriff’s deputy Kent Mundell.

As this year will set the precedence for future years, the Commissioners will plan to take a Blog Site vote to obtain input for future year charities. We hope you are all on-board and will feel a part of this important local charity contribution.

Rocky Bowl Party a Success

The 2009-2010 Rocky Bowl Party is in the books. On this night, The ‘Other Brother’ claimed the Bobbi Breeze Award in style, this year’s Rocky Bowl shirts were unveiled, the Idaho Vandals provided one of the most exciting games in Rocky Bowl Party history, a Flank Steak meal to remember was served up, and the first ever Rocky Bowl Party family picture was taken.

At the conclusion of the Wisconsin’s upset of Miami in the Champs Sports Bowl, Brad 'The brother that works' Ericksen realized he had the Bobbi Breeze award clinched over Cheetah Woods. This was his first Rocky Bowl, but he knew he had to be there in person to accept the award. He acted swiftly and he was on a plane from Minneapolis to Seattle and was one of the first to arrive at the Rocky Bowl. Much like the previous year when twin brother ‘Underworked’ showed up at 1:30 to wear the Yellow Jersey (only to be denied of the trophy after the last game of the night), The other brother was determined not to let anyone else wear the Yellow Jersey as the leader of those currently attending the Rocky Bowl party. He proudly sported the Yellow Jersey all night until he proudly pulled his Rocky Bowl 2009-2010 T-shirt over the top.

The Rocky Bowl shirts arrived in plenty of time for the trophy presentation despite one of the biggest snow storms of the decade. How does Brady 'Big Hands' Weisbeck do it? Through rain, snow, sleet or hail, he finds a way to get the shirts to the commissioners and proud Rocky Bowlers in time for the festivities. We can’t thank you enough ‘Big Hands’, the shirts are alwyas the highlight of the night. We objectively handed out the shirts to the leading Rocky Bowlers in attendance at the party.

The Rocky Bowlers wanted to also send a special thanks to the next Cougar coach Rob ‘I once played golf with TopCoug’ Akkey for his team’s special performance in their defeat of Bowling Green in the Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl. The Vandal’s dramatic drive in the last minute and Rob’s decision to go for 2 with 4 seconds left and avoid OT was absolutely genius (move over Belichick). It provided one of the most exciting game moments in Rocky Bowl history as the evenly split crowd cheered and jeered for their selected team.

Next came the eating. A beautifully marinated Flank Steak, Caesar Salad and an array of supporting dishes was provided by Rocky Bowlers and presented by the hostess Laura ‘Next Years Long Shot’ Long. The party goers quickly moved from the TV’s to the feeding table and the party was officially in full swing.

Once the belly’s were full, someone had the brilliant idea for the first ever Rocky Bowl Family Photo. Here’s to you Rockybowler’s!!! Thanks for making this another fun filled year!

Rumor has it that the present leader is flying in to collect his trophy and money.

Brad "Brother who Works" Erickson is shouting as he fly across the country. "The Bobby Breeze IS MINE".  This evil working villain is planning to return the beloved trophy back to Minnesota. Vengeance is ours if we can stop him.

What can we do to STOP the brother who works?

Come to the Rockybowl party today and join in the fun. Once again, the games begin early so come by anytime. The official start time is 3:00 but do know any time or length of visit is fine.
